Chicago based pianist Jerad Mosbey enjoys a diverse career encompassing work in vocal and instrumental collaboration, chamber music, and opera. His work in the Second City has involved collaborations with Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Ryan Opera Center, DePaul Opera Theater, Music of the Baroque, and Northwestern University. In 2013 Mr. Mosbey joined the music staff of Lyric Opera of Chicago, where he serves as assistant chorus master and assistant conductor. Recent performance highlights include recitals in collaboration with such artists as Jennifer Larmore, Joshua Hopkins, Philip Dikeman, and Amy Johnson. Mr. Mosbey has performed extensively with baritone Joshua Hopkins under the auspices of the Marilyn Horne Foundation, collaborating in two residency recitals and as part of the "On Wings of Song" concert series. In the fall of 2010, they released their first recording together under the ATMA Classique label, titled "Let Beauty Awake." In January of 2012, Mr. Mosbey made his debut at Carnegie Hall, collaborating with Joshua Hopkins for the Marilyn Horne Foundation’s “The Song Continues..." annual recital. Mr. Mosbey is a graduate of Butler University and the University of Michigan where he studied with world-renowned collaborative pianist Martin Katz. He has held prestigious fellowships at the AIMS program in Austria, the Tanglewood Music Center, and is a graduate of the Houston Grand Opera Studio.
